Official presentation of Team PEUGEOT Total crews for the 2018 Rally Dakar

After their historical triple win in 2017, Team PEUGEOT Total presented yesterday the crews who, on board the new PEUGEOT 3008DKR ‘Maxi’, will aim for victory in the 40th Dakar rally which will take place from January 6 to 20, 2018.

For the long and difficult 9,000 km endurance race that will run through Peru, Bolivia and Argentina, TOTAL QUARTZ lubricants, with their cutting-edge formula, remain the best option to face the new challenge, ensuring higher protection and maximum engine performance.

Peugeot Sport Argentina together with Total Argentina officially presented the Team PEUGEOT TOTAL at a press conference held yesterday at the race track “La Chutana”, located in the city of Lima, Peru. At an exclusive meeting, the Dream Team and team executives participated in the last pre-rally shakedown of the 4factory PEUGEOT 3008DKR Maxi which will run in the 40th Dakar Rally.

Bruno Famin, Director of Peugeot Sport, and Christian Deltombe, Technical Director of Peugeot Sport Dakar, the members of the Marketing and Communication team of Total Argentina and Peugeot Sport Argentina joined the crews and their executives in this event which afforded the opportunity for the drivers to share their shakedown experience and to set the challenges that are to be faced by both brands at one of the fiercest rally races in the world, supporting the Dream Team after its triple win in the most recent 2017 Dakar Rally.

The shakedown test is the ultimate preparation stage of the cars that take part in the competition, leading up to the official scrutineering as the final stage before the start. This new edition of the rally is highly significant for both the team and the brands as they will seek to defend their 2016 and 2017 titles with the Dream Team they have been supporting in the last Dakar rally races run in Latin America.

“For both Total and the Peugeot Total team, the bet is undoubtedly to win the podium one more time. As this will be our last Dakar as the team official sponsor, we aim at a new triumph with a strong and technically prepared team to face one of the toughest races in the world”, said Aixa Dominguez Brizzio, Marketing and  Communication Director of Total Argentina, who added “Total will continue supporting Peugeot Sport Argentina in this competition through their historical global brand agreement”.
